Teachers nominated students whom they believed exhibited characteristics of an "Innovator" which include, but are not limited to:

*Reflective approach to learning

*Driven to succeed and ability to push through situations with GRIT

*Takes advantage of opportunities presented

*Humble approach

*Ability to extract learning from different situations

*Have solid attendance

*Exhibit qualities of leadership in the classroom

With the nomination, Teachers also included the reason/rationale for each of their selections. One winner was then selected and received a certificate, an IC water bottle, a portable phone charging block, candy, and recognition both in the building and on the school's social media site.
